Colorado Springs Neurological Associates (CSNA)began in 1959 and are now the largest and most experienced Neuroscience and Spine practice in southern Colorado. Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Operations is responsible for leading all clinical and support operations and ensuring high quality service to customers, both internal and external. Meet customer service, revenue and margin goals. Ensure the development and implementation of best practice processes and procedures to enable high levels of effectiveness and efficiency throughout the Company. Develop and maintain a highly functioning, responsive team that works collaboratively with other departments to ensure company goals are met. Provide leadership, feedback, coaching to direct reports and others to improve performance and morale.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with other executive committee team members to develop and implement key strategies for the Company
  • Leads all Operations for the Company, including clinical support/medical assistants, EEG, EMG, front desk, scheduling, referrals, billing and coding, IT, medical records
  • Drives quality clinical performance and outcomes
  • Meet volume, revenue, and profit objectives
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer service goals and outcomes
  • Set and ensure achievement of performance goals for each operational group that are aggressive, achievable and tied to short- and long- term objectives
  • Helps execute on the Company’s marketing strategy
  • Employee management including feedback, coaching and annual performance reviews
  • Responsible for hiring and performance discipline within the group
  • Maintains a strong, positive and collaborative culture with high team member retention
  • Oversees IT initiatives including EMR efforts, aligning technology with customer service expectations
  • Manages to and meets annual expense budget targets

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages 4 to 7 Leaders and individual contributors
  • Provides feedback, coaching, training, and conducts annual employee performance evaluations
  • Involved in hiring and employee discipline within the group

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Successful track record of achieving strong profit and loss results
  • Demonstrated strength in operational implementation and cost management
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Business acumen and partnering experience

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS degree required; advanced degree(s) and/or certification(s) preferred
  • Five (5) plus years of progressive experience in leadership with at least two (2) years in an executive /operations position
  • Five (5) or more years managing others
  • Experience in outpatient medical clinic or hospital environment

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Clinical background (nursing, ancillary services, etc.)
  • Professional history in a growing a medical practice

Job Description

Colorado Springs Neurological Associates (CSNA) began in 1959 and are now the largest and most experienced Neuroscience and Spine practice in southern Colorado. We proudly deliver the highest quality medical care to our community and we are seeking Advanced Practice Providers that share our drive for excellence.

CSNA currently has two Physician Assistant (PA) opportunities available. One position will directly support a Neurosurgeon and one will support the Neurology providers. Note: the Surgical PA opportunity requires a high level of flexibility and adaptability to meet the unpredictable demands of assisting in an operating room.

Under the supervision of a Neurologist or Neurosurgeon, the PA works to interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis. This may order tests to ascertain the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries and prescribe medications and suggest lifestyle changes to remedy medical problems. Treatments provided by a Physician Assistant may include stitching wounds, adjusting medications, and administering immunizations. They also maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies. The PA may work in both the clinic and hospital setting.

  • Graduate Degree from an Accredited Academic Program
  • Certified Physician Assistant
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
  • Member of American Academy of Physician Assistants
  • Ability to obtain credentials for hospital operating room privileges (Surgical PA)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review patients’ medical history
  • Conduct physical exams to assess patients’ health
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Make diagnoses concerning a patient’s injury or illness
  • Give treatments including administering injections
  • Provide patient care planning
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families—for example, answering questions about how to manage symptoms of multiple sclerosis or low back pain
  • Prescribe medicine when needed
  • Provide inpatient care when needed
  • Research the latest treatments to ensure the quality of patient care
  • Conduct or participate in outreach programs; talking to groups about managing diseases and promoting wellness
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential records.

Required Knowledge, Competencies and Skills

  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Willing to learn new skills and methods
  • Able to assist in the operating room as indicated
